WAR OF 1812 NAVAL BOARDING PIKE, 7 ft 11 ¼ inches long. Metal pike head is 17 ¼ inches long marked “US Surcharged” on flat #1; “NYW” for Navy Yard Washington on flat #2; “NW” on flat #3; Inspectory “JT” on flat #4. Shaft is ash or hickory and shows signs of grey or blue and red paint with ball terminal end. This is a rare Maine find with US Navy Yard markings.
