Description
This is a militia officer’s sword, brass mounted with counter-guard, helmet pommel and chain guard. It has a solid turned down counter-guard with an American eagle on the obverse side. The double-edged blade is in excellent condition with an overall nice, clean and polished appearance. There are a few small areas of graying. The blade is etched on both sides with the American eagle, running vines and foliate decoration the panoply of arms. There is no sheath. The grip is reeded bone with one minor chip at the base on the
reverse side. Overall length is 35 inches. Blade length is 29 ½ inches.
