This is a nice clean whale oil lantern with cornucopia vents at the top. There is a name on the top “H.Hildreth”. It appears that the lantern was never painted and has a grey smooth tin finish.

This is a nice clean whale oil lantern with cornucopia vents at the top. There is a name on the top “H.Hildreth”. It appears that the lantern was never painted and has a grey smooth tin finish. The globe is a free blown teardrop form with an applied band at the top only. The tinned pinch burner retains a two-light whale oil burner. It measures 17 ½ inches to the top of the carrying ring, 13 inches with the ring down, and 5 7/8 inches at the base.
