Description
This canvas ditty bag was recently found in a coastal Maine home. It is in excellent condition with no tears or fraying. As the photographs reveal there is some staining from the tar that was used aboard ship. The bag itself is 19 inches long x 8 inches in diameter. The bag also incorporates a 6 inch x 10 inch internal compartment. We have had ditty bags in the past but this is the first one to incorporate bone sliders. The grommets are hand sewn as you would find on a Civil War or earlier period flag. Obviously, the bag is all hand sewn.
