A rare American Tiger Maple stocked fowler with raised flowingleaf carving and brass mounted. Beautiful well-proportioned fowler with a slightly swamped, British proofed 53.75 " barrel. The fowler is 70" overall and has approximately two foot olf fore end repair. Wooden ramrod. Circa 1750-1760. Refer to Grinslade page 148 for some similar examples.
