17TH CENTURY SCANDINAVIAN CANDLESTICK

Description

This is a rare candlestick. It is made of pinkish bronze and very thinly turned. It is in excellent condition for a candlestick dating to 1650. The color is almost like copper. It has very delicate turnings with no breaks or splits in the metal. There are a few minor dents in the base. Sometime in the life of the candlestick a retaining nut was added under the base. These are usually found with very worn threads or have been soldered.
